Banana Being é o terceiro trabalho de uma trilogia em que proponho explorar a relação excessiva ou obsessiva do corpo com materiais específicos. Nesta proposta a relação será estabelecida com cachos de banana que cobrem e transformam a figura de um homem em pé. Este corpo híbrido, manipulado pela matéria, coloca o performer numa relação voluntária com a monstruosidade mantendo a vertente humana encapsulada no seu interior.
Esta peça é composta por 3 momentos.
No primeiro momento equivalente a um prólogo, o público testemunha a preparação e instalação do Banana Being com a ajuda e domínio de um artista do shibari.
No segundo momento assistimos à manutenção, expansão e destruição da figura.
É o momento catártico deste ser aparentemente monstruoso que afirma o seu corpo deformado, escultórico, imponente, até à sua auto-destruição.
No terceiro momento e como epílogo, o público é então convidado a permanecer para uma celebração. Uma pós-party com a presença de um dj e de um bartender, onde as bebidas e os aperitivos são à base de bananas – um acto de antropofagia colectiva.

Banana Being is the third work of a trilogy in which I propose to explore the excessive or obsessive relationship of the body with specific materials. In this proposal the relationship will be established with banana bunches that cover and transform the figure of a standing man. This hybrid body, manipulated by matter, puts the performer in a voluntary relationship with monstrosity, keeping the human aspect encapsulated inside.
This piece is composed of 3 moments.
In the first moment, equivalent to a prologue, the audience witnesses the preparation and installation of the Banana Being with the help and dominion of a shibari artist.
In the second moment we witness the maintenance, expansion, and destruction of the figure.
It is the cathartic moment of this apparently monstrous being that affirms its deformed, sculptural, imposing body until its self-destruction.
In the third moment and as an epilogue, the audience is then invited to stay for a celebration. A post-party with the presence of a DJ and a bartender, where the drinks and appetizers are banana-based - an act of collective anthropophagy.
